The Leningor District Court of South Ossetia found the Georgian citizen Konstantin Abaishvili guilty of the illegally crossing the state border, sentencing him to a fine and subsequent deportation, the State Security Committee (KGB) of the Republic of South Ossetia reports.

According to the agency, on January 20, 2026, the South Ossetian border guards detained a 37-year-old Konstantin Abaishvili, a resident of the village of Tsitelubani in the Gori Municipality.

He was detained near the village of Amdzarin in Leningor District.

South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev met with the members participating in the special military operation in Tskhinvali The head of state expressed gratitude to the soldiers for their courage, fortitude, and dedication in carrying out combat missions.

During the conversation, Gagloev has noted that the Republic's leadership and people are especially eager for the defenders to return home.
