Days of the Ossetian culture in Sochi have passed with a bang

Promotion of vibrant cultural identity of the people of Ossetia and strengthening the intercultural relations in the North Caucasus has become one of the main ideas of organizers of the festival, which was held in the Russian capital for future Olympic Games - Sochi. During 10 days the prominent cultural figures of Russia, famous politicians and public figures, heads of the Ossetian diaspora from the Russian cities and Europe, the inhabitants of Sochi were participating in the festival "Days of the Ossetian culture in Sochi," timed to the tenth anniversary of the local Ossetian national cultural public organization "Alania".

Whether CIS-EMO will observe the elections in South Ossetia?

The Central Election Committee of South Ossetia did not invite CIS-EMO for observing the elections. As the Chairman of the Central Election Committee of the RSO Bella Plieva has informed the news agency "RES", they did not arrive on invitation of the Central Election Committee. According to Plieva, this organization is in the territory of South Ossetia; however it has not received the invitation of the Central Election Committee.

CEC of South Ossetia exchanged experience with the North Ossetian colleagues

A seminar for employees of the Central Election Committee of South Ossetia was being held in Vladikavkaz, from 25 to 27 October. As reported by the RSO CEC Chairman Bella Plieva to IA "Res", before the elections in South Ossetia CEC along with members of the territorial commissions, district election commissions are conducting seminars by arrangement with the CEC of North Ossetia-Alania.

Film festival "...Teeners" is coming to an end in Tskhinval

Today, the film festival for teenagers and young adults under the name"...Teeners" is coming to an end in the capital of South Ossetia. The idea of holding the festival for adolescents and young people "...Teeners" in Tskhinval occurred to organizers of the annual Film Festival in 2009, while filming a documentary film about the August war in South Ossetia. This has been reported by the head of the charitable nonprofit foundation named after Valery Priemykhov Olga Kurbatskaya-one of the organizers of the festival, - at the press conference in Tskhinval.

Children's rehabilitation center is being constructed in Tskhinval

Children's rehabilitation center will be built in the capital of South Ossetia. As the Minister of Health and Social Development of South Ossetia Otarbeg Gassiev has informed IA "Res", construction of this facility is part of the investment program of promoting socio-economic development of South Ossetia.

The «CIS-EMO» Mission will be observing the presidential elections in South Ossetia

Representatives of the International Election Observation «CIS-EMO» will monitor the presidential elections in South Ossetia, which will be held on November 13, 2011. It has been declared by representatives of this organization, arrived in South Ossetia with a working visit, at the press conference in Tskhinval. According to the Director General of CIS-EMO Alexei Kochetkov, the mission of observers is established by the International Organization for elections monitoring.

Presidential candidates of the RSO are for constitutional elections

Possibility of falsification of the voting results at the forthcoming presidential elections of South Ossetia on November, 13th has been discussed by presidential candidates of the RSO at the meeting in Tskhinval. As the candidate for the Presidency Georgy Kabisov has informed the news agency "RES", nine of the seventeen presidential candidates took part in the meeting: Alla Dzhioeva, Alan Pliev, Dzhemal Dzhigkaev, Inal Bazzaev, Igor Alborov, Ajvar Bestaev, Sergey Bitiev and Merab Chigoev, including Kabisov himself.

Questions about the return of refugees to Leningor district have been discussed at the meeting with the President of South Ossetia

Plans on returning the residents of Leningor district of South Ossetia who were expelled from their homes during the occupation of the area by the Georgian armed formations from 1989 to 2008, have been discussed at the meeting of the President of South Ossetia, Eduard Kokoity, with the heads of the ministries and departments. The meeting was also attended by representatives of public organizations of refugees from Georgia and from Leningor District, currently living in North Ossetia, and also by the Deputy Minister of the Regional Development Minister Sergei Vereshchagin.
