Ministries of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia have begun preparing a large-scale cultural event — mutual Days of Culture. This was announced by Minister of Culture Rada Dzagoeva.

In June next year, the Days of Culture of the Russian Federation are planned to be held in South Ossetia, timed to coincide with Russia Day. The event will not be a one-off — it will be held in the format of a multi-day program, including concerts, exhibitions, creative meetings and educational events.

Abkhazian President Badra Gunba called the head of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev and expressed condolences over the death of the head of the South Ossetian diplomatic mission in Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev, the press service of President of Abkhazia reports.

“Oleg Ilyich, a veteran of the Patriotic War of the people of Abkhazia, a great patriot of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. He has done a lot to strengthen the friendship between our states. We are mourning together with his family and friends,” President of Abkhazia said.

South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev expressed condolences over the death of the Republic's Ambassador to Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev, the press service of the head of state reports.

The death of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Ossetia to Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev was a painful echo in the hearts of everyone who had the opportunity to work with him. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia Odyssey Bigvava.

"This sad news touched my heart, because we were very close in our work. He was a great professional and senior mentor, played a key role in the implementation of all foreign policy issues and the course of South Ossetia," Bigvava said.

The Embassy of South Ossetia in Russia took part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition "The Last Battle of World War II", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory of Soviet troops over the militaristic Japan.

The invitation to the event was sent to the diplomatic department by the leadership of the Russian Historical Society and the Museum of Contemporary History.

The exposition at the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia tells about the Manchurian strategic offensive operation, the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk offensive operation, the liberation of China and Korea.

A delegation from the Moscow City Duma, headed by deputy, chairperson of the Moscow City Duma commission on transport and development of road and transport infrastructure Sabina Tsvetkova, arrived in South Ossetia.

The delegation began their visit by laying flowers. The guests honored the memory of the fallen defenders of South Ossetia by laying flowers at the memorial complex in Tskhinval.

South Ossetia will take part in the XI St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures, which will be held from September 11 to 13. This was announced by Minister of Culture Rada Dzagoeva during the briefing for media representatives.

Participation in the Forum, according to her, is the important step in strengthening cultural dialogue, expanding international ties and promoting the cultural heritage of South Ossetia at the largest international venue.

A delegation of the Moscow City Duma, headed by Deputy Sabina Tsvetkova, presented significant gifts to the Holy Trinity Church as part of its working visit to South Ossetia.

The head of state Alan Gagloev is taking part in the event.

On the day of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, August 28, with the support of President of the Holy Martyr Boniface Foundation Natalia Mezentseva and on the initiative of Sabina Tsvetkova, Orthodox shrines were delivered to Tskhinval.

The Moscow City Duma deputy, a public figure Sabina Tsvetkova will visit Tskhinval on a humanitarian mission.

On the day of the Dormition of the Holy Mother of God, August 28, together with the vice-president of the Charitable Foundation of the Holy Martyr Boniface Natalia Mezentseva, a ceremony will be held to transfer the icons of saints and church utensils to the Church of the Holy Trinity and the Church of the Holy Mother of God in Tskhinval.

The guests will also attend a solemn service.

The South Ossetian and Abkhazian peoples have long been linked by bonds of strong friendship and true brotherhood, which have been further strengthened by the similarity of historical paths.
