Statement of the South Ossetian delegation on the 24th round of the Geneva international discussions on security and stability in the South Caucasus

June 25-26, 2013, a regular meeting of the international discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia was held in Geneva. It was attended by delegations of the Republic of South Ossetia, the Republic of Abkhazia, Georgia, the Russian Federation, the United States, as well as by the EU, the UN and the OSCE representatives. South Ossetian delegation was led by Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev.

The 24 round of international discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia has been completed in Geneva. As reported to the news agency "Res" over the phone from Geneva by the head of the South Ossetian delegation, Presidential Envoy to the RSO for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev, the participants of the talks had focused on security issues of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

The 24th round of international discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia is underway in Geneva (Switzerland). June 26 South Ossetian professional boxer Murat Gassiev will fight for the WBC world title among youth. The fight will take place in Chelyabinsk (Russia) within the frames of the International Festival of Martial Arts "For Russia." As IA "Res" has been informed by a coach of the South Ossetian boxer Vitali Slanov, Gassiev`s rival is a Georgian professional boxer Levan Dzhomardashvili. Both athletes perform in the weight category up to 90.7 kg.

Chief Editor of the South Ossetian republic newspaper "South Ossetia" Zalina Tskhovrebova participated in the XV World Congress of Russian Press, held June19 - 23 in Minsk (Belarus).

During the Forum the delegation of South Ossetia held a series of meetings in the halls of the Russian companies. According to the press service of the Embassy of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation, Minister of Economic Development Zalina Khugati met with the Minister of Regional Development of the Russian Federation Igor Slyunyayev, Kaluga Region Governor Alexander Artamonov, representatives of the Russian business community. In the course of the meetings took place an exchange of views on current issues of bilateral cooperation and development opportunities of investment policy.

The South Ossetian delegation went to Geneva to participate in the 24th round of international discussions on security in Transcaucasia. As the news agency "Res" was informed at the office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy for post-conflict settlement, the next round of talks would be held on June 26-27.
