Association of Women of South Ossetia for Democracy and Human Rights, together with all the citizens of RSO followed with great concern events related to the announcement of the inauguration date by the ex-candidate to the President Dzhioeva Alla, and incident which happened in Tskhinval on February 9, when Alla Alekseevna Dzhioeva was transported to Rebublican Hospital in grave condition.

South Ossetian authorities have met with the Co-chairs of the Geneva talks

Delegation of co-chairs of the Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia has arrived today in South Ossetia with a working visit. The delegation includes Philippe Lefort (EU), Antti Turunen (UN) and Padrig Murphy (OSCE). In Tskhinval, the co-chairs were received by Presidential Envoy on post-conflict settlement Boris Chochiev. The meeting was also attended by Minister for Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Murat Dzhioev and Human Rights Ombudsman David Sanakoev.

Subscription lists of Maurice Sanakoev, Dmitry Medoev and Sergei Bitiev have been submitted to the CEC of South Ossetia

The Central Election Committee of South Ossetia has accepted today subscription lists from the action groups nominating ex- Chairman of the Committee of Transportation Maurice Sanakoev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the RF Dmitry Medoev and chief bailiff of the Ministry of Justice Sergei Bitiev as the presidential candidates.

The recognition of South Ossetia by the growing number of states – is an irreversible process, and it eventually will promote relaxation of international tension in the South Caucasus as a whole. A round table discussion on a topic "The political situation in South Ossetia on the eve of presidential elections," organized by the Institute of the CIS countries, will be held in Moscow February 20. As IA "Res" has been informed at the press service of the Parliament of South Ossetia, "the discussion will be attended by politicians, political scientists from South and North Ossetia, Russian experts on the Caucasus".

South Ossetian talents will perform at the international contest "Cranes over Russia"

Leonid Tibilov successfully passed an examination in revealing the state languages skills

A presidential aspirant of South Ossetia, a former KGB chairman Leonid Tibilov has passed today an exam in revealing qualifications of the official languages. As reported to IA "Res" by the CEC secretary of South Ossetia, Irina Gassieva, Tibilov wrote a dictation in Russian and Ossetian, and then addressed the commission on the topic "Problems of Development of Education and Science in your election platform.

Foreign Minister of South Ossetia Murat Dzhioev has announced that the Diplomatic mission of South Ossetia in Moscow was currently headed by the Charge d'Affaires of the Republic in the Russian Federation Akhsar Dzhioev. "As you know, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Ossetia, Dmitry Medoev declared about his participation in the election of the President, scheduled for March 25 by the Parliament. Medoev is now in South Ossetia and is engaged in preparing for presidential campaign.

CEC: Vice-Speaker of South Ossetia Yuri Dzitstsoity passed the exam

A presidential aspirant of South Ossetia, a Vice-Speaker of Parliament Yuri Dzitstsoity has passed today an exam on qualifications of the official languages, necessary for registration of presidential candidates. As IA "Res" has been informed at the CEC of South Ossetia, Yuri Dzitstsoity passed the exam successfully, and members of the linguistic commission gave him a pass.
