THE CAPITAL OF THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH OSSETIA WAS AGAIN UNDER MASSIVE SHELLING

On the night of 8-9 September the capital of the Republic of South Ossetia was again under massive shelling. The correspondent of Res agency was informed by the RSO Minister of Interior Mikhail Mindzaev, "shelling was done from Georgian village Ergneti. Around 00:10 shelling of the southern outskirts of Tskhinval started. Shelling continued for 20 minutes after that the Ministry of Interior check points and the armed forces of the Republic opened fire. As a result the shelling stopped. Nobody suffered. - The Minister added- that during the same night was shelled the RSO Ministry of Interior check point, located in the northern outskirts of Tskhinval, adjoining Georgian village Tamarasheni”.
According to the Minister the shelling was done to provoke fire from the Ossetian side.
Mindzaev also noted that “the law enforcement bodies of South Ossetia have information that the Georgian armed forces continue to concentrate at borders of the Republic”.
