The water supply of the capital of the Republic of South Ossetia Tskhinval reduced more than twice. As the mayor of Tskhinval Robert Guliev reported to IA «Res» correspondent the cause of water supply deterioration is due to the illegal incuts in Edis-Tskhinval water pipe at the 9 km Kekhvi-Tamarasheni sector, which is temporarily controlled by Georgian power structures.
«We are facing this problem every year, both in summer and in winter. Georgian authorities allow illegal incuts for the local population to irrigate their plots of land and even make purposeful provocations to create water crisis in Tskhinval. The same was in summer 2007 and in winter 2007-2008»-said Guliev and added that for second day Tskhinval received only 40% of required bulk of water.
«We have monitored the water pipe to check if there are any damages and confirmed that the water pressure in the pipe is normal, and the water loss is at Tamarasheni-Kekhvi sector»-said the mayor.
