The President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity held a session with the representatives of ministries, government agencies, heads of city and rural administrations. The president opened the session with tasking to examine all issues related to delayed approval of the 2010 budget.
The session continued with law enforcement bodies’ reports on the situation for the previous week. Interior Minister of South Ossetia Valery Valiev noted that the personnel of the Interior Ministry increased its patrolling due to religious holidays. According to Valiev, the number of cases of driving in a drunken state decreased significantly. The President once again tasked the Interior Ministry to intensify their mode of operation in relation to religious feasts. Valiev has also informed that the Interior Ministry personnel are participating in professional training at Krasnodar Interior Ministry University from 8 to 22 April.
Acting Defense Minister Ibragim Gaseev reported on the results of the visit to Moscow, where a number of agreements important for the state had been signed. “During the meetings in Moscow, a number of problems were discussed, the solution of which depends on the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Namely, the study opportunities for the South Ossetian citizens at military high schools in the RF and retraining of officers. We found the RF MoD’s understanding in this question and we were assured that necessary support would be provided”, said Gasseev. Ibragim Gasseev informed about the training for the personnel for the 65th Victory Day anniversary parade. The Minister for Emergency Situations Anatoly Bibilov reported on anti-flood measures taken in rural areas of South Ossetia. The EMERCOM personnel had also carried out demining activities in the village of Tbet and “Solnechni” micro-district.
The Chair of the State Control and Economic Security Committee Batradz Tokazov reported on the results of joint inspection together with the Audit Chamber of the RF taking place on 29 March-9 April 2010. He informed that the inspection covered the Ministry of Finance, State Committee for rehabilitation and State Unitary Enterprise “Directory for implementation of priority national projects”. “Three joint inspection statements were drawn. These statements are currently being finalized and the results will be additionally reported”, said Tokazov.
The president tasked the interior Ministry, Prosecutor General’s Office, and Interior Department for Economic Crimes to take all necessary measures to identify all affiliated structures to close them all. ”We have our own state structures which could deal with supplies of better quality and cheaper construction materials”, said Eduard Kokoity. The President made some comments on the work of the Ministry for Economic Development of South Ossetia. Namely, he tasked to work through by next week the issues of separation of the Committees for Natural Resources and Architecture from the Ministry for Economic Development. The president has also tasked relevant structures to closely follow the process of issuing South Ossetian passports. “In the period when the old passports are replaced with the new ones, the delivery of passports to persons who are not permanent residents of South Ossetia should be suspended. By May 2011, we should stop the process of old passports’ replacement”, said Eduard Kokoity.
During the session, heads of administration also reported on their work. The information on the preparation for the 9 May celebrations was also heard.
