On 14 April, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua Samuel Santos Lopez paying official visit to the Republic of South Ossetia.
During the meeting, the sides had a fruitful dialogue on issues of mutual interest to foster further development of friendship and cooperation between the Republic of South Ossetia and Republic of Nicaragua.
The sides expressed their common satisfaction about full agreement in viewpoints on current international relations.
The Foreign Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia Murat Djioev and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Nicaragua Samuel Santos Lopez signed their joint Communiqué on establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of South Ossetia and Republic of Nicaragua and Protocol on Consultations Between the Ministries for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia and Republic of Nicaragua.
The same day, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Republic of Nicaragua had a speech before the members of South Ossetian Parliament. The official delegation of Republic of Nicaragua continues its introductory visit to the Republic of South Ossetia.
