During the period between September 20-23, the law enforcement bodies detained eight persons for illegally crossing the state borders of South Ossetia, bypassing the official; six of them are citizens of Georgia. In accordance with established norms, they were all transferred to the RSO KGB Border Guard Service further proceedings. Later, upon the decision of Tskhinval district court of the Republic of South Ossetia, five Georgian citizens were expelled from the territory of the Republic and handed over to the Georgian Interior Ministry.

According to the article. 18.1 of the Code of Administrative Violations, upon the decision of the same court, four persons, including two citizens of Georgia, were fined with 2,000 rubles for violating the regulations of the state border crossing.
One of the citizens of Georgia - Alexey Adeishvili, 1967, who illegally crossed the border on Sept. 23 in the locality of Ahmadzhi, Leningor district, remains detained until all the circumstances of the breach of the state border are established.
In accordance with the "Law on State Border " adopted in July 2010, for illegal crossing of the state border of South Ossetia, individuals are subjected to administrative punishment or criminal prosecution, including imprisonment for up to five years.
