Valiev David Vladimirovich, 1948d.b. , an inhabitant Tskhinval
On the night of August 8, 2008 the Georgian aggressors perfidiously attacked South Ossetia. I live in Heroes street in Tskhinval. About 12 o'clock in the night the powerful explosions have been resounded. I went down into the cellar and stayed there till the morning. Through the window of the cellar I saw the Georgian tanks, moving along the street. They were bombing us from planes, too. One of the bombs hit my house, and the staircase and the doors have been completely ruined. I was lucky that at that moment I had been in the cellar. But I have become a witness of the terrible murder.
Through the window I saw, how the Georgians had blown up a car with a whole family in it: a husband, a wife and their children. The car was enveloped with flames, but the woman managed to get out of it. I rushed out of the cellar, trying to help them but as soon as I left, the Georgians noticed me and started shooting me from the tank. There was a truck full of flour sacks next to my house and I managed to hide behind it. Then I ran towards the house. The Georgians followed me and started to shoot. They were shouting, that I could have surrendered, obscenely speaking. I have thought that it is better they have killed me, but I will not surrender. Through the kitchen gardens I reached the next houses, the fascists were shooting me. I ran into some house, the owner, having seen me, was frightened, but I asked him not to cry, as the Georgians were pursuing me. So I went out in October Street, then in Luzhkov Street. I saw a pit in the kitchen garden there and stayed in it till the evening. When it became dark, I somehow reached the building in Tselinnikov Street and went down into the cellar. So I remained there till the end of the war. Thanks God, that I have survived, it was God who has rescued me.
