At the VIII congress of the ruling political party "Unity", the party member, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov has been confirmed as the single candidate for the Presidency at the forthcoming presidential elections in South Ossetia on November, 13.
The nominee of Bibilov was offered by the party supreme body – the Political Council. As a result of the secret ballot, from among the 102 delegates present, 72 members have voted for Bibilov, 21 - contra, 8 have abstained in the vote, one ballot has been declared invalid by the counting board. At the congress Anatoly Bibilov has said that the trust of the party is connected with trust of the President of the RSO, who earlier declared of supporting his nominee for the Presidency. «Thank you for your high trust. I`d like to address to the candidates who will run for president, that our elections should be held at high political level, they should be fair, transparent, without using "black technologies". I appeal to my opponents: We should show the whole world consistency and high political culture», - Bibilov has underlined and has assured all the present that, for his part, he will not give an occasion to any provocations and excesses.
