South Ossetian fighters Sarmat Kokoev, Amid Esekkuev, Vadim Gagloev and Radion Kumaritov have become the winners of the Xth international boxing tournament held in the city of Sovetsk (Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation - Ed) in memory of the master of sports of the USSR Vladimir Emelyanov.
As the coach of the athletes Murat Kokoev has informed IA "Res", "the competition was attended by athletes from Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland born in 1995-1996. In the weight class up to 81 kilograms two our boxers Sarmat Kokoev and Radion Kumaritov met in the final. At the end of the battle Kokoev defeated on points and Kumaritov respectively won the silver medal."
According to him, another representative of the South Ossetian team Amid Esekkuev (weight class up to 64 kg) has also become the winner of the tournament.
"Vadim Gagloev, who is also a representative of the boxing school from Tskhinval performed in the weight class up to 50 kilograms. Unfortunately, he lost the final fight with a representative of the team from Kaliningrad and eventually finished second. Overall, I am satisfied with the performance of our boxers who showed a good level of training during the competition, "- said the coach.
It should be noted that recently three more boxers from South Ossetia - Azamat Valiev, Ruslan Kumaritov and Sarmat Laliev have become the bronze medalists of the tournament.
All these athletes are trained by the South Ossetian master of sports of the international class, the head coach on boxing of the Public-State Physical Culture and Sports Association "Youth of Russia" Robert Pliev and Murat Kokoev.
