During the current session of the Parliament the deputies of the Parliament of South Ossetiahave observed a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of the Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who deceased the night before.
"Today, we have received the sad news on the death of the friend of our Republic, an outstanding political leader Hugo Chavez. He was one of the leaders of the countries that have responded to our appeal and have recognized our independence, "- said the Speaker of the Parliament Stanislav Kochiev.
According to him, after the recognition of the RSO sovereignty, the establishment of diplomatic relations between Venezuela and South Ossetia, Chavez had been providing support to the Republic in the international arena.
