In the global information space South Ossetia has in many respects a negative image, the Republic is often mentioned in connection with the ineffective expenditure of the Russian financial aid. And it is not just a problem of South Ossetia, but Russia, too, stated the chief editor of the information-analytical portal "Herald of the Caucasus" Alexey Vlasov, speaking at the theoretical and practical conference "The Republic of South Ossetia before and after the recognition of the state independence by the Russian Federation."

"Window to the world - this is a very important issue that needs to be addressed now. Georgian propaganda - this can be seen on Abkhazia and South Ossetia - is based on the very significant resources in the formation of the image of the conflict. And this image is read only in Georgian or English, but not in Russian and Ossetian languages,"- said the expert.
To remedy the situation, Vlasov proposed to establish a permanent communication network for young professionals from South Ossetia - historians, political scientists and sociologists. He said that in this issue South Ossetia could count on the help of the historical faculty of the Moscow State University, the information- analytical portal "Herald of the Caucasus " and the newly established non-governmental organization "The Center North-South."
"The network may operate in the remote access. That is, we can broadcast online lectures by leading professors, bring teachers here. But this should not be propaganda of the History Faculty of the Moscow State University, but part of the strategy of educational programs in South Ossetia. We have to fit into those models that will offer South Ossetia," - said Vlasov.
He has proposed to assist in the organization of training of graduates and students of South Ossetia at the Russian universities.
"Again, this should be a part of the common plan, implemented in a systematic way," - said the expert.
He also promised to consider the possibility of opening in South Ossetia the representation of the agency "Herald of the Caucasus."
