Georgia is making new attempts to hamper the engineering constructive works at the state border of South Ossetia - KGB

The Georgian side is taking the next steps to hamper the engineering constructive works at the state border between South Ossetia and Georgia.
As IA "Res" has been reported at the press service of the KGB of South Ossetia,
on the night of September 22, a group of people from Georgia violated the state border of South Ossetia and near the village of Mugut in Znaur district of South Ossetia set up a makeshift fence, trying to show by their actions, where run the border line.

"September 22, representative of the Border Service of South Ossetia came to the border area and using maps and GPS- equipment determined that the fence was in the territory of South Ossetia", - said the KGB official.
After that the fence was dismantled, and the representative of the Border Service of South Ossetia held a meeting with representatives of the company engaged in carrying out the engineering constructive works at the state border of the Republic. Using GPS- equipment, he indicated the borderline up to the village of Mugut.
"The situation and the actions of the Border Service representative were being observed by the Georgian Interior Ministry from the Georgian territory ", - he added.
Currently the engineering constructive works near the village of Mugut are resumed.
At the same time the local population of Georgian nationality gathered close to the state border line.
"There has been reinforcement of the Georgian police, as well as the presence of representatives of the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia. However, both the police and the EUMM observers do not intervene in the situation, " – has stressed the KGB official, not excluding
further provocations from the Georgian side and warning that if the Georgian side makes an attempt to hamper the engineering constructive works at the state border of South Ossetia, the perpetrators will be arrested and brought to justice in accordance with the legislation of South Ossetia.
