In Tskhinval has been held a meeting of the members of the South Ossetian delegation at the Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia with a delegation of the UN, the OSCE and the EU co-chairs of the Geneva discussions, who arrived in the Republic of South Ossetia on a working visit.
As the news agency "Res" has been informed at the office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy for post-conflict settlement, in the course of the meeting were discussed issues related to the preparations for the next round of the Geneva talks, scheduled for November 6, 2013, as well as the situation at the state border between South Ossetia and Georgia.
The South Ossetian side has reiterated that all the works to arrange the state border with Georgia are being conducted within the sovereign rights of the Republic of South Ossetia, in accordance with the norms and principles of international law, affecting neither the territory, nor the sovereignty of Georgia. The actions conducted by the Georgian side along the state border are politically committed and provocative and threaten the security and stability in the region.
The South Ossetian side expressed appreciation to the co-chairs for their assistance in the removal of tensions at the state border.
The parties have also discussed humanitarian issues, including the problem of the missing citizens of South Ossetia.
