In Geneva completed the 28 round of international discussions on security in Transcaucasia. As the news agency "Res" has been informed over the phone from Geneva by Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev, the main issue for discussion was to ensure security of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

"The South Ossetian delegation has informed the participants of the discussions on the recent parliamentary elections in the Republic noting that they were held in full compliance with international electoral law and the legislation of South Ossetia, and become another important step on the path of democratic development of the country," said Dzhioev. According to him, the talks were focused on the need to accelerate the work on a legally binding agreement on the non-use of force between Georgia and South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Georgia with solid international guarantees.
South Ossetian delegation again raised the issue to intensify the search for the missing citizens of South Ossetia; also was reiterated the proposal on mutual release of citizens kept in prisons of Georgia and South Ossetia.
"Talking about the situation at the South Ossetian-Georgian border, the South Ossetian delegation has reiterated that it is the state border and its crossing must be determined by the relevant interstate agreements. It was also proposed to start working on delimitation of the state border," said Dzhioev. He has added that on June 5 UN General Assembly once again adopted the Georgian draft resolution on refugees, which does not take into account the position of the South Ossetian and Abkhaz sides. The delegations of South Ossetia and Abkhazia at the Geneva talks made a joint statement where is noted that it is illogical to discuss the question on refugees in Geneva.
