In South Ossetia are hoping that the next round of the Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia will be more successful in preparing the legally binding documents on the non-use of force by Georgia against South Ossetia and Abkhazia, said Presidential Envoy of the RSO for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev at a meeting with the Co-chairs of the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia. Representatives of the UN, OSCE and EU have arrived today in Tskhinval to discuss the agenda for the next round of the Geneva discussions.

According to the envoy, the issues discussed in the course of the discussion, do not lose their relevance, as they concern primarily the security in Transcaucasia.
"Recently the situation in the region can be called stable-tense, security risks are not eliminated- on the contrary, there are new threats, as evidenced by the recurrent statements of the Georgian leadership. The steps of Georgia for rapprochement with NATO unsettle us, causing for concern for the fate of peace and security in the region as a whole. So I hope that at the forthcoming round we will make a small but important step in the preparation of the document by the parties not to use force, which is the main objective of the Geneva discussions, "- said Dzhioev.
He has also recalled that on Monday, November 17, at the border village of Ergneti hosted the 50th meeting of the Mechanisms to prevent and respond to incidents (MPRI), in this format, according to Murat Dzhioev, progress is being made.
"Challenges facing the MPRI are discussed and resolved. The result is a stable situation along the border between South Ossetia and Georgia, "- said the envoy.
The EU Co-Chairman Herbert Salber said that the MPRI activities can be evaluated as successful and that this format also works under the auspices of the Geneva discussions.
"Therefore, I believe that it is our common work, accordingly, our success," - he said.
Salber has also expressed the hope that the next round of discussions will be more useful for this purpose, all participants must be willing to cooperate.
"The previous round has shown that we can work in all the important areas.
I hope that the upcoming round will be successful in exchange of opinions, and we can focus on important topics and substance of negotiations, "- said the co-chair.
He has noted that the successful work of the Geneva discussions will convince colleagues in the UN, OSCE and the EU, that these meetings are useful and should be continued.
Murat Dzhioev has assured the co-chairs that South Ossetia is always ready for constructive work.
