The body of Archil Tatunashvili was transferred to Georgia with the conclusions of the independent forensic medical examination, "said the South Ossetian Presidential Envoy for post-conflict settlement, Murat Dzhioev.
He has reminded that after the death of the Georgian citizen, Archil Tatunashvili, a medical examination was conducted in South Ossetia.
"However, for greater certainty, the biomaterials were sent to an independent examination in Russia," Dzhioev said.
He has specified that the South Ossetian side was expecting the results of the independent expert examination, so that Tatunashvili's body was transferred along with its conclusions.
"The Georgian side is politicizing this issue, therefore, we considered it necessary for the body to be transferred with the conclusions of an independent forensic medical examination," the plenipotentiary said. "The materials of this examination were received, and tonight took place the transfer of Archil Tatunashvili's body."
According to Dzhioev, the relevant services of South Ossetia handed over the coffin with Tatunashvili's body and materials of expertise to representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross, which has a representative office in the Republic.
"They in turn on the state border of South Ossetia, in the vicinity of the settlement of Ergnet have handed over the body and related materials to their colleagues, which are located on the territory of Georgia," said the South Ossetian diplomat.
Dzhioev has also stressed that an independent expert examination conducted in Russia confirmed the results of the initial examination conducted in South Ossetia - the cause of Archil Tatunashvili's death was acute heart failure.
