In the village of Tsinagar, Leningor District of South Ossetia, the victims of the Georgian aggression were commemorated on Sunday. On April 28, 1991, seven residents of Tsinagar, defending their native village, were brutally murdered by Georgian militants.
Prime Minister Erik Pukhaev expressed his attitude towards the memorable date, noting that the history of South Ossetia is full of dramatic upheavals and experiences that we must always remember.
“We will never forget the victims of the Tsinagar tragedy, as well as many other of our fellow citizens, the innocent victims of the fascist Georgians. Only in Leningor District, dozens of people defending their land, were brutally murdered by the Georgian aggressors. We must remember each victim, to keep silent on the painful issues of our history means to neglect the truth, not to respect the memory of the victims," he stressed. The head of the Government has also noted that despite everything, life does not stand still, the Republic is moving forward, and people are more confident of the future.
“Remembering the tragic pages of its history, we need to think about tomorrow. South Ossetia, thanks to the help of the Russian Federation, has risen to its feet and is engaged in peaceful labor. The focus is on creative tasks, including solving the problematic issues of Leningor District. I am sure that by joint efforts we will overcome all difficulties and improve the quality of life of people in every corner of the Republic,” said Eric Pukhaev.
