A telegram from the commander of the Menshevik troops in Tskhinval Chkheidze to the Commander-in-Chief on the offensive of the South Ossetian partisans on Tskhinval.
Commander in Chief. Copy, the General Staff. The Dzhava group is fighting a strong battle, making its way to me according to this task. It is necessary to go on the offensive. The Kartalinsky battalion is expected to be small. The surrounding Ossetian villages are empty. Ossetians were grouped at Kehvi, all are local. I ask permission to burn the participating villages. A delegation from the rebels has arrived in Kekhvi, calling for a joint uprising. The airplane will inspire the Dzhava group, please send it urgently. When support arrives, I will go on the offensive and wait for more help.
Chkheidze.
