The conditions for quarantine of citizens in the infectious diseases hospital of South Ossetia are absolutely acceptable, the Republic’s chief infectious disease specialist, Eleanora Dzhioeva, told IA “Res”.

“There are two people in each isolation wards-this with a separate bathroom unit. Basically, we place citizens on 2-3 floors, since on the 4th floor bathroom units are located in the corridor,” said Dzhioeva.

According to her, more than 20 people are quarantined in the infectious diseases hospital - drivers of vehicles who, due to their employment, cross the border of South Ossetia with Russia in the context of restrictive measures adopted by the government.

“Quarantine conditions for citizens are good, they are under medical supervision, they are provided with three meals a day,” the chief infectious disease specialist said.

She has added that the wards are single and double, the citizens who work together are placed in the same hospital room.

It should be noted that 24 people are also under the supervision of doctors at the Republican Medical Center; this is a group of South Ossetian citizens who came from Russia, thanks to the efforts of the authorities of the Republic, through the Consulate of South Ossetia in North Ossetia.

According to the data on the morning of April 20, provided by the Committee of South Ossetian Committee for Consumer Rights Protection, in South Ossetia not a single case of a new coronavirus infection COVID-19 was recorded.
