Repair of the building of the embassy of South Ossetia in Russia is nearing completion in Moscow, which will soon open in a festive atmosphere, President Anatoly Bibilov said at a cabinet meeting on Thursday.

"I think for one of the memorable dates in our relations with Russia we will open the facility in a festive atmosphere," the President said.

The head of state also congratulated the employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russian border guards, the KGB and the State Committee for Information and Press on celebrated holidays.

The head of state called for active officials to actively collaborate with the media.

"You should give a clear explanation of the existing problems, there should not be any uncomfortable questions for you," the Pesident emphasized.

Earlier it was reported that the Embassy of South Ossetia in Russia will move to a 19th-century mansion in Moscow. The Russian side provided a new building, an old mansion of the 19th century, at 10 Lyalin Lane.

An agreement to provide a new building for the Embassy was reached at a meeting between the head of South Ossetia and Russian President Vladimir Putin during an official visit in November 2017.

The building is currently undergoing renovations.
