The leadership of South Ossetia will not take steps that may pose a threat to the penetration of coronavirus into the territory of the Republic, - President of the Republic of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov said at the meeting of the operational headquarters.
“Until the leadership of South Ossetia is confident in the safety of the citizens of the Republic, we will not take any steps that would allow, to some extent, the penetration of the coronavirus into the territory of the Republic. For us, the primary task is to preserve the health of our citizens, based on this we will take further steps,” the President said.
He expressed gratitude to the employees of the ministries and departments that ensure the safety of citizens of the Republic in preventing the penetration of coronavirus infection into the country.
“A huge amount of work is being done, which is important and necessary. Its result is obvious - today there is no coronavirus on the territory of South Ossetia, except for citizens who are in quarantine in medical institutions,” the head of state emphasized.
The President has added that he understands the indignation of individual citizens who are waiting for the lifting of restrictive measures at the border, "but the main thing today is the safety of the inhabitants of South Ossetia."
“Each of them worries about their relatives who are in Russia, in particular, in North Ossetia,” Bibilov said. - I also understand those who want to spend their holidays here, and not everyone has such an opportunity. This is largely due to their unwillingness to undergo quarantine here. "
Bibilov noted that "further steps will be worked out by the operational headquarters, which can to some extent help to reduce some requirements, but in any case, they will be related to the safety of citizens."
The meeting of the operational headquarters continued without the participation of the media.
