In South Ossetia, 132 people have been tested for COVID-19, 30 tests showed a positive result, the fourth day in the Republic there is an increase in the number of cases, the chief sanitary doctor of the republic Marina Kochieva told IA "Res" on Friday.
"In a day 30 people have been detected a positive coronavirus result. In total, since the day the restrictions were lifted on the border with the Russian Federation (September 15), 137 citizens fell ill," she said.
According to Kochieva, over the entire period of the pandemic on the morning of October 16, 227 cases of coronavirus were registered.
Since April of this year, more than 5.9 tests for COVID-19 have been carried out at the laboratory of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee. The chief sanitary doctor urges citizens to observe the mask regime, take a responsible approach to safety measures.
As reported to IA "Res" by Deputy Minister of Health Alla Chochieva, the isolation ward of the RMMC is fully occupied by patients with viral pneumonia and coronavirus, many are being treated on an outpatient basis, "she said.
According to her, the number of cases has increased significantly and the Ministry of Health is considering the possibility of opening another department for patients with coronavirus, "we assume a children's hospital, where we expect to prepare up to 100 beds for patients with COVID-19."
In the Republic three capital schools have been quarantined - Albion, the Lyceum of Arts and School No. 2, as well as three kindergartens in the capital and districts.
