President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov on the air of the State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company "Ir" commented on the statement of the leader of the "Essence of Time" movement Sergei Kurginyan regarding the fact that "the CIA is fooling around" in the Republic.
"Sergei Yervandovich is undoubtedly a respected person. There is no doubt either in his patriotism, or in his love for the Motherland, for the Russian Federation. At the same time, to say that the entire leadership of the Presidential Executive Office is Mormons, is, at the very least, dishonest in relation to those employees who are not Mormons. Mr. Kurginyan uses such words - "the CIA is joking there" ... I do not know who is joking what is in the head, but in South Ossetia the CIA is not joking, and I definitely consider it an insult to those special services, which are in South Ossetia, including representatives of the Russian Federation, "- said the President.
The head of state has noted that everyone in South Ossetia is committed to the vector of foreign policy that was determined by the people of Ossetia in 1774, when it was decided to join the Russian Empire.
“It is this historical path that connects us with Russia, will never allow, and we will never come to the point where the CIA or someone else is playing around here,” Bibilov emphasized.
According to the President, "emotionally, Mr. Kurginyan can say whatever he wants, but no one is allowed to offend the people of the Republic and the Republic itself."
“Kurginyan’s response to the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry’s statement suggests that Mr. Kurginyan is absolutely disrespectful to South Ossetia. I still did not know, and hardly knew at least one citizen of the Republic, that if it were not for Mr. Kurginyan’s article in some newspaper, then there would be no recognition of South Ossetia. As I understand it, we must erect a monument to you, that thanks to your article the political leadership made decisions, "he said.
According to Bibilov, the entire political elite came together when South Ossetia needed help.
"This is not only an article by Kurginyan, there was a huge work of the same Konstantin Iosifovich Kosachev, Konstantin Fedorovich Zatulin, Yuri Mikhailovich Luzhkov, but for some reason no one of them ever allowed a disrespectful, especially as in this case, an insulting attack against the people of South Ossetia. It was not Mr. Kurginyan who made the decision to recognize the independence of South Ossetia. There are specific people to whom we are grateful both for political recognition and for ensuring the security of the Republic - these are Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev, Sergei Kuzhugetovich Shoigu, Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov and many outstanding personalities of Russia who did everything to protect the people of South Ossetia and prevent them from being destroyed, "the head of state said.
