The schoolchildren found a charger from a hand-held anti-personnel grenade in the area of the city lake of the capital of South Ossetia, which was immediately reported to the relevant services, a duty officer of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic told the IA “Res”.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has noted that as soon as a call was received about the discovery of a dangerous find, the sappers went to the place.
“Our sappers left for at 21:54 on Friday. Together with the sappers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, they seized the charger from the anti-personnel grenade with subsequent destruction,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
The duty unit reported that the day before the sappers had also taken out and neutralized the ammunition found earlier in various places at the Dzartsem training ground.
In addition, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations eliminated the fire of construction waste on the capital's Gubaev Brothers Street.
