Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and the OSCE Special Representative discussed topical issues of the Geneva Discussions

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko and the OSCE Co-Chair at the International Geneva Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office for the South Caucasus, Annika Söder, discussed by phone on Friday topical issues on the agenda of the Geneva Discussions.

"A number of topical issues on the agenda of the Geneva discussions were discussed, including the upcoming meeting of the Mechanism for Prevention and Response to Incidents on the Georgian-South Ossetian Border in Ergneti," the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry reads.

The conversation took place at the request of Söder.

The Geneva discussions on Transcaucasia are the only platform for dialogue between Sukhum, Tskhinval and Tbilisi, based on the agreements between the presidents of the Russian Federation and France. The talks in Geneva are attended by representatives of Abkhazia, Georgia, Russia, the United States and South Ossetia, as well a the UN, European Union and OSCE observers as co-chairs.

The second IPRM meeting this year is scheduled for April 27.
