The delegation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia, headed by Minister Azamat Chochiev, took part in the celebration of the 160th anniversary of the formation of the fire-fighting system of the Donetsk People's Republic. The solemn event was held with the participation of the head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin.
Guests of honor arrived to congratulate the rescuers: Chairman of the All-Russian public organization "Russian Union of Rescuers" Alexey Dudarev, Heads of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of South Ossetia Azamat Chochiev and the Republic of Abkhazia Lev Kvitsinia.
During the event, on behalf of the President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov and the personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the rescuers of Donbas congratulated Azamat Chochiev.

Representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia also became guests of honor of the competition "In memory of the hero-rescuer", which was attended by employees of fire and rescue units of the city of Donetsk and cadets of the Academy of Civil Protection.
This year the fire prevention of Donbass is exactly 160 years old. The history of firefighting has many examples of bravery, courage and dedication. People come to the fire-fighting system not for fame and awards, but for vocation. Since 2014, about 55 thousand fires have been extinguished by the fire brigade, more than a thousand people have been rescued.
