In South Ossetia, each candidate's representative signs a ballot, and in Syria, each voter dips his little finger in ink so that one person cannot vote a second time, Chairman of the South Ossetian Parliament Alan Tadtaev told about the peculiarities of the election process in the Syrian Arab Republic.

According to him, the ink does not leave the hand for three days, therefore, a person cannot re-cast his vote at another polling station.

“In addition, the Syrian population, unlike the South Ossetian population, is not tied to a specific polling station in the presidential elections, the main thing is to have a Syrian passport with you, which is identified, after which a person is given a ballot. In parliamentary elections, the voter votes only at the place of residence. The voting itself in Syria is held secretly, and the ballot is lowered into the ballot box,” said the Speaker.

Alan Tadtaev has stressed that they were familiarized with the Syrian constitution, and they did not notice any violations of the election law. "There were minor violations, for example, due to the large flow of voters in some polling stations, sometimes they did not have time to make the numbering. And in general, the vote was held within the framework of the legislation of the SAR, " the Speaker said.

Tadtaev called the elections in Syria "a holiday, which was expressed in the atmosphere, and the mood of voters, and in slogans, etc." “They organized a national holiday, and after the closing of the polling stations, people gathered in the squares, and this was celebrated in all cities of the SAR. People were jubilant, staged concerts, singing and dancing. Talking with the residents of Syria, we felt that no one was forcing people to do this,” said the head of the South Ossetian legislative body.

Another distinguishing feature of the Syrian elections is that some voters pierced their fingers and marked "for" or "against" with blood. According to Alan Tadtaev, the South Ossetian delegation witnessed such a fact. “Indeed, this happened, and it was not considered a violation. The main thing in this type of voting is not to go beyond the checkboxes,” he said.

Concerning the issue of adopting experience, the Speaker explained that in terms of organizing the voting process, it is worth adopting some points, for example, organization. “I have never seen such activity anywhere, both during the voting process and after the closure of polling stations. This should be adopted by South Ossetia,” the Speaker specified.

The Chairman of the Parliament has also noted that separate queues for women and men were organized at some polling stations.
