The presentation of 3 books, published with the assistance of the Ministry of Education and Science of South Ossetia, took place in the Anakharsis Republican Library in Tskhinal. “The first two books are a reflection of a century ago events. The album "Pages of the Memory Album" contains two stories, the author of one of which is me, and the creator of the second story is Irina Bekoeva, Associate Professor of the English Department at the South Ossetian State University. The second book is a collection of essays by students of the South Ossetian schools, prepared for the 100th anniversary of the genocide of our people,” said Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of South Ossetia Elisa Gagloeva.
According to Gagloeva, the collection includes the best paintings and compositions, the authors of which were awarded during the presentation.

The Ministry of Education will distribute books to schools, libraries and other institutions so that everyone can get acquainted with the publications.
The event was attended by President of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, Culture of South Ossetia, as well as school students, whose works had been added to the pages of the books presented today.
These events are held within the framework of the patriotic education of the younger generation and the dissemination of the truth about the genocide of Ossetians.
“Last year, due to the pandemic, we were unable to carry out all the planned activities. Part of them has been postponed to this year. We considered it important to publish the "Memory Album", which contains two stories. We asked the students of the Lyceum of Arts and the Khetagurovo school to read and illustrate what they read,” said Natalie Gassieva, Minister of Education and Science.
“Pages of the Memory Album” is the first book written for children, which will tell the younger generation about the terrible period in the life of the Ossetians. The stories are presented in three languages: Ossetian, Russian and English in order to convey the truth about the Ossetian tragedy to the world community.
As part of the implementation of the state complex target program for the spiritual and moral education of the younger generation, the Ministry of Education announced last year a competition for the best essay on the topic "Genocide of the Ossetian people", at the same time a drawing competition "Genocide of Ossetians through the eyes of children" was announced, both contests were held remotely. About 35 children from all over the Republic under the age of 17 took part in the drawing competition. The main result of the competitions was the publication of an album - the book "Tsayemaei ivg'uyd ma ua rohy" which has included the best essays and drawings of the participants.
“If there is no history, there will be nothing to tell about the nation. Now we should all be proud of the children who are here today. When we were their age, we did not know what they know about our history. I am proud of both the children and the Ministry of Education for covering this complex and sad topic for our people. This is a significant and important step,” Anatoly Bibilov said.
During the event, the President has noted that until Georgia recognizes Ossetia as an independent state, until it apologizes for the extermination of the Ossetian people, there will be no cooperation and negotiations with Georgia.
At the end of the presentation, Anatoly Bibilov and Elisa Gagloeva awarded letters of thanks to the teachers of the pupils who participated in the competition. The pupils themselves received diplomas and copies of books with their works.
