The bronze medalist of the European Freestyle Wrestling Championship Arsamag Zasseev returned to Tskhinval. The wrestler was met on the theater square by friends, relatives and his coach Tamerlan Kochiev.
As noted by press service of the Committee on Youth Policy and Sports, Arsamag Zasseev took third place at the European Championship among juniors under 21 years old. An athlete of the South Ossetian wrestling school competed in the heaviest weight class (125 kg).
“For more than 15 years no one from our Republic has taken part in the European Championship. Therefore, winning the bronze medal is a great success for us. But at the same time, we were counting on the first place. In the semifinal meeting, mistakes were made. We will work on correcting them,” said Tamerlan Kochiev.
It should be noted that other wards of Tamerlan Kochiev - Soslan Dzhagaev and Andrey Bestaev this year will take part in the world championship among juniors under 21 years old.
