In South Ossetia, an increase in the incidence of coronavirus has been increasing since June, the head of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee Marina Kochieva said at the briefing in Tskhinval.
“The first peak in the growth of COVID-19 disease occurred in October 2020, when 43 percent of the total number of tests conducted during a month were positive. Since then, until May of this year, inclusive, the incidence was declining, laboratory confirmed cases of coronavirus for the month were 4 percent of the total number of tests,” said Kochieva.
She has noted that an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 has been recorded since the second week of June this year. (Of the total samples, 11 percent were positive.)
“Analyzing the first two weeks of July, we can say that the increase in the incidence continues. To date, of the total number of laboratory tests carried out in two weeks, 16 percent are confirmed cases of COVID-19, "Marina Kochieva noted.
The head of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee has added that based on an analysis of the situation, the number of infected people will increase until the end of the month.
