The mourning event was overshadowed by a provocation by a group of migrants of the Georgian nationality
On the island of Sardinia in Italy, in the city of Cagliari, under the auspices of the representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia in Italy, a commemorative action was held - a prayer service dedicated to the thirteenth anniversary of Georgia's armed aggression against the Republic of South Ossetia.
Residents of Cagliari, a group of friends of South Ossetia led by Roberto Pinna, a representative of the South Ossetian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sardinia, took part in the action, which took place on the Indipendenza square near the monument to the Martyrs of Italy, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.
Participants of the action with the symbols of South Ossetia expressed support for the South Ossetian people and honored the memory of those killed during the attack of the Georgian criminal regime on Tskhinval in August 2008.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the mourning event was overshadowed by a provocation committed by a group of migrants of the Georgian nationality, led by the woman. With their inadequate hysterical behavior, they tried to disrupt the peaceful action of the citizens of Italy - the indigenous inhabitants of the island of Sardinia.
On his page on social networks, Roberto Pinna expressed regret that the attackers did not allow the participants of the rally to hold a memorial service for the innocent citizens of South Ossetia: “All those perished in wars have the right to memory and prayer, we just wanted to peacefully and in a Christian way honor the memory martyrs of South Ossetia”.
The provocation was not crowned with success, after which the commemorative event continued.
