Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia have cleared the area near the border with Georgia in Leningor district of explosives, the press secretary of the district administration Angela Kokoeva told the IA “Res ".

“The path along which the border guards move while going round the Ossetian-Georgian border has been examined and cleared of explosives. It runs along the village of Aleu, Leningor district.

The head of the administration and the border department of the FSB of Russia in the Republic addressed the Ministry of Emergency Situations with a request to carry out the work, "Kokoeva emphasized.

According to her, in addition to sappers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, specialists from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the KGB, the Health Ministry were involved in conducting intelligence work, and the Defense Ministry also provided significant assistance.

“We examined the area with a width of 4 meters and a length of 6 km.

Upon completion of the work, a certificate of acceptance and transfer of the surveyed territory was drawn up, "the press secretary said.

She has added that the first Deputy Minister of the Emergencies Ministry, Atsamaz Bestauty, during the working meeting with the leadership of the district administration, has noted that they are ready to continue to examine and cleanse explosives and other areas, if necessary.

In turn, the head of the district l administration Vladimir Guliyev thanked the Emergencies Ministry for the work done to avoid accidents.
