The State Security Committee of South Ossetia issued a message on Wednesday, which notes the emerging threats to security in the sanitary-epidemiological and economic spheres of the Republic.
“In particular, cases of infection with African swine fever (ASF) are recorded in all regions of South Ossetia. At the same time, it is known about the death of domestic animals from brucellosis and ASF in the Sachkhere municipality of Georgia bordering South Ossetia.
Official information about the facts of livestock diseases is hushed up by the Georgian authorities. This circumstance is connected with the activities of the so-called. “R. Lugar Center for Public Health." in Georgia, which continues working with especially dangerous infectious diseases, the pathogens of which can be used by the Tbilisi regime against South Ossetia for bioterrorist purposes, the KGB press service said.
They noted that earlier, on the basis of the biolaboratory, experiments were carried out on people with pathogens of especially dangerous viruses, as well as coronaviruses. Since 2017, the American company Eco Health Alliance has been operating in Georgia, which is a Pentagon contractor and is engaged in bat research under the program of the US Department of Defense (initial cost – 6.5 million US dollars), which maintains contacts with the Wuhan Laboratory.
The "R. Lugar Public Health Center" plans to continue its work within the framework of the so-called. project No. 1447, which involves further research on the treatment of hepatitis C. The purpose of this project is to modify the virus to a form that is more resistant to existing drugs. Earlier, 249 patients died from the consequences of such treatment in Georgia. At the same time, the subjects were periodically purposefully injected with expired drugs and the body's reaction was monitored," the KGB specified, adding that in the near future an additional biological laboratory with the name "BSL -2", as well as an administrative building near the center of Lugar will be erected. Only military doctors from the United States - officers of the W. Reed Army Research Institute will work in the new buildings.
The KGB draws attention to the fact that since Georgia is under the direct control of the West, official Tbilisi does not influence the decision-making on the deployment and operation of a network of American biological laboratories on its territory.
At the same time, these laboratories, which include working with especially dangerous bacteria and viruses, are an urgent threat to regional security and cause direct harm to the population of South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Georgia, as well as other states of the South Caucasus.
