The institute of the customs procedure for processing in the customs territory of South Ossetia can help create favorable conditions for economic growth, attract investment and create additional jobs, said Fatima Tibilova, acting head of the Ministry of Finance, at the government meeting on Thursday.
The head of the financial department submitted for consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers a draft regulation on the customs regime of processing in the customs territory of the Republic, the document, according to her, was developed in order to improve the legislation of the Republic in the field of customs policy.
“To ensure the development of the economy in the Republic, one of the most important tasks is to attract investment. One of the directions for solving this problem is the regulation of the customs sphere, from this point of view, the application of the customs procedure for processing in the customs territory of the Republic is significant and extremely relevant, since one of the important areas for foreign trade is the import of foreign goods in order to create products without paying customs duties , taxes and without the application of non-tariff regulation measures with the subsequent export of processed products outside the customs territory of South Ossetia,” she said.
According to Prime Minister Gennady Bekoev, "the issue is very important, since the absence of this document creates problems for local entrepreneurs, including the BTK-4 enterprise." As a result of the discussion, the regulation was unanimously approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
