Observers from the Russian Federation did not reveal violations during voting at the polling stations during the presidential elections in South Ossetia, the turnout was high - more than 80%, said Anton Lopatin, a member of the Russian Central Election Commission, who had taken part in observing the elections of the head of the Republic on April 10.
"The delegation of the Russian Federation at the elections was large - it has included deputies and senators, members of the CEC, representatives of the Public Chamber. I think that in total, the colleagues visited exactly more than half of the polling stations," Lopatin said, adding that he, along with the CEC member of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mazurevsky personally visited about 15 polling stations.
Lopatin has noted that almost all candidates recognized the election results. "The Central Election Commission of the Republic said that, in principle, no complaints or appeals to them following the results of the campaign. Members of the delegation also drew attention to the fact that a large number of observers at all those polling stations that we visited said that there were no violations," the member of the CEC of the Russian Federation said.
He has stressed that during his visit to the polling stations he drew attention to the good attitude towards the representatives of the Russian Federation. "Everyone greeted us very happily and introduced us to the organization of the electoral process. The turnout was really high, according to the results it amounted to more than 80%," Lopatin has added.
On Sunday, voting in the presidential elections took place in South Ossetia, the elections were recognized successful.
According to the preliminary results of voting, Bibilov (33.5%) and Gagloev (36.9%) advanced to the second round.
