Special forces of Defense Ministry of South Ossetia paid tribute to the memory of their colleagues perished during the August war

Servicemen of the special forces battalion of the Defense Ministry of South Ossetia honored the memory of their colleagues, perished during the repulse of the Georgian military aggression in the August 2008 war, the press service of the defense department reported.

The personnel of the unit laid flowers at the memorial plaque to the volunteer Aslan Aguzarov, killed in the courtyard of the 6th school in Tskhinval. Aguzarov came to Tskhinval as a volunteer from the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, was fighting as part of a special forces battalion (then a separate reconnaissance battalion). Posthumously awarded the Order of Uuatsamonga.

The servicemen of the unit have also visited the graves of David Nartikoev (awarded the Order of "Uatsamonga" posthumously), other servicemen and volunteers who gave their lives in the battles for South Ossetia during the five-day war.

It should be noted that the special forces of the national army made a serious contribution to maintaining the integrity of the Republic of South Ossetia, defending its national interests. In August 2008, the servicemen of the unit showed examples of bravery and courage in battles with the Georgian military units.
