“South Ossetia aims to develop relations with Venezuela”: President to the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic

President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev has received credentials from the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Republic Jesus Rafael Salazar Velazquez, the press service of the head of state reports.

The official award ceremony took place today in Tskhinval, in the large hall of the Presidential Executive Office of South Ossetia.

At the end of the official part, the parties discussed further ways of bilateral cooperation.

“I am glad to welcome you, a representative of a country that is friendly to us, to our land. We remember well how in difficult years of deprivation for us and the beginning of recovery after a devastating war, the Venezuelan authorities, represented by Hugo Chavez, made the important and courageous decision in 2009, recognizing the state independence of South Ossetia,” said Alan Gagloev.

He has stressed that South Ossetia aims to develop relations with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

“We are aimed at developing relations in the economy, culture, as well as in the foreign policy sphere,” said the head of the South Ossetian state.

In turn, Jesus Rafael Salazar Velasquez thanked Alan Gagloev for the warm welcome.

“Alan Eduardovich, first of all, I want to congratulate you on your election to the post of President of the Republic of South Ossetia and wish you success and important achievements on this difficult path,” he said.

Alan Gagloev and Jesus Rafael Salazar Velazquez expressed their readiness to give new impetus to the agreements signed between the two republics.

“The Bolivarian people are always with you. You can always rely on our support!” the Ambassador said.

At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged memorable gifts.
