Deputies of the Parliament of South Ossetia are collecting humanitarian aid to the South Ossetian fighters participating in Russia's special military operation in Ukraine.
As reported to the “Res” news agency by deputy Arsen Kvezerov, the bulk of the aid has already been collected.
According to him, parliamentarians are transferring part of their wages for these purposes.
“The Chairman of the Parliament instructed us to collect humanitarian aid to our fighters. Each of the deputies is deducting part of his salary for this. We are collecting food, equipment, uniforms for them. Our guys are on the battlefield, and we live a peaceful life here, and our duty is to help them,” Kvezerov said.
Kvezerov has noted that the account has been opened, and not only deputies, but also residents of the Republic are transferring funds there.
“We were helped by President of the Republic Alan Gagloev, Prime Minister Konstantin Dzhussoev, Chairman of the National Bank Zhanna Dzhioeva also promised to help. And a beekeeper from the Znaur district sent us 50 jars of honey. Another resident of the Republic promised to bring us five tons of water,” the parliamentarian said.
Humanitarian aid, according to him, the deputies are going to deliver in early June.
He reminded that the deputies had previously delivered humanitarian aid to the South Ossetian fighters, and expressed his gratitude to everyone who helped.
“Very much thanks to our residents for their active participation in the collection of aid. We understand that not everyone has such an opportunity, but still every time we collect aid, people help in any way they can,” the deputy added.
