President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev met with the delegation of North Ossetia headed by Chairman of the Parliament of North Ossetia-Alania Taimuraz Tuskaev, the press service of the head of state reports.
The delegation of North Ossetia-Alania arrived in Tskhinval to participate in the events dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia.
According to the press service, for the South Ossetian part, the meeting was attended by Chairman of the Parliament Alan Alborov, Chairman of the Committee of the Parliament on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Zaza Dryaev.
For the North Ossetian part – by Chairman of the Parliament Taimuraz Tuskaev, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Housing and Public Utilities and Construction Policy Georgy Ostaev, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legislation, Legality and Local Self-Government Georgy Dzhioev.
Alan Gagloev greeted the guests and expressed his gratitude for the visit to South Ossetia.
“Today the Republic is celebrating a significant, historic date in modern history. At the same time, today is 30 years since the recognition of the independence of South Ossetia by the Parliament of North Ossetia. People of South Ossetia remember and appreciate everything. I want to thank the deputies and all the fraternal people of the northern part of Ossetia for always being with us in difficult situations, celebrating memorable and holidays with us. As bequeathed by our elders, we are obliged to build our common future together,”the press service is quoting the President.
The head of state as noted that people of Ossetia do not stand aside, given the geopolitical processes taking place in the world.
“The world is rapidly changing, and we are obliged to protect our interests, the interests of our common Motherland - the Russian Federation. Today, Ossetian fighters, together with Russian fighters, are fighting for peace, giving their lives. Unfortunately, there are losses. The Ossetian people went through a lot, but they were able to survive. No one has any doubt that today we will stand and victory will be ours. Thank you for coming and celebrating this day with the people of South Ossetia,” said Alan Gagloev.
Taimuraz Tuskaev thanked the President for the warm welcome and noted that he was watching with great joy the positive processes of strengthening the statehood of the Republic of South Ossetia.
“Our delegation arrived with a big heart, with joy. For us it is a great honor. On behalf of the deputies of the Parliament of North Ossetia-Alania, I would like to congratulate you and all the residents of South Ossetia on this significant date - the Day of the adoption of the Act of Declaration of Independence,” said Taimuraz Tuskaev.
He has added that in continuation of this key political decision, another significant event took place - the adoption by the Supreme Council of North Ossetia of a resolution recognizing the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia.
“We bow to the courage of our elders from South and North Ossetia, who laid the foundations for the free development of South Ossetia, secured the right of the people to live and create on the land of their ancestors according to their own laws, therefore, we are very happy to observe the positive processes of strengthening the statehood of South Ossetia, the development of processes in social sphere, in the economy. Our common task is to serve our Motherland confidently, using the example of our elders," Tuskaev has emphasized.
Chairman of the North Ossetian Parliament has noted that the Ossetian fighters, who are today showing courage and bravery in the special military operation zone, have a great example of older, legendary representatives of the Ossetian nation.
“You have given an example of fighters who are performing combat missions in the special military operation zone today. They have a great example of the ace pilot, the first Hero of the Soviet Union among the Ossetians Alexei Ostaev, the legendary naval sailor Konstantin Kochiev, the chronicler of our people, the playwright Nafi Dzhussoity, the author of the soulful anthem of the RSO Felix Alborov. Therefore, this strongest foundation: moral, educational, intellectual is the basis for the development of our people. A nation that has such elders is doomed to success,” he said.
Taimuraz Tuskaev conveyed to Alan Gagloev and all the heroic people of South Ossetia the best wishes from the head of North Ossetia, Sergei Menyailo.
