Minister of Culture of South Ossetia Rada Dzagoeva has received the chief choreographer of the branch of the Mariinsky Theater in North Ossetia-Alania Valery Suanov and stage designer David Nayfonov.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture, the meeting took place the day before as part of a tour of the branch of the Mariinsky Theater in North Ossetia-Alania to the Republic.
The Minister expressed her gratitude to the management of the Mariinsky Theater, headed by Valery Gergiev, for their great personal contribution to the development of the Ossetian culture and the creation of the national ballet “Fatima”, having noted that the show of the ballet had become a truly great cultural event in South Ossetia.
“It is very significant that after the premiere of the ballet in Vladikavkaz, it was brought to South Ossetia. I really want such tours of the Mariinsky Theater to become a regular, natural process,” the Minister said.
Rada Dzagoeva expressed words of admiration for Valery Suanov and the entire creative staff for the colossal work and noted that with the production of the ballet “Fatima” a lot was done for the integration of North and South Ossetia.
“Through the production of Fatima, Ossetia will be heard at many more significant venues not only in Russia, but also abroad,” the Minister added.
Valery Suanov, in turn, expressed gratitude for the warm and cordial welcome and expressed hope for further cooperation.
“It is a great joy for us that the national ballet “Fatima” is in the cultural treasury of our republics. I think that this is only the beginning of the development of high art in our republics. Thanks to Valery Abisalovich, North and South will be more closely intertwined through culture,” Suanov said.
During the conversation, prospects for further cooperation were also discussed.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged memorable gifts.
