The untimely tragic death of the true patriots of the Islamic Republic, who firmly defended the interests of their country, was a huge shock not only for the people of Iran, but for the entire world community, the note of condolences of the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry sent to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Russia in connection with the tragic consequences of the helicopter crash, reads.

“Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia sends words of deep condolences in connection with the helicopter crash that occurred on May 19, 2024, which resulted in the death of President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Hossein Amir Abdel-Lahyan and other government officials,” the note, published on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reads.

The Foreign Ministry expressed hope that the citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran will cope with the ordeal with honor.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi perished in a helicopter crash. On board the helicopter were Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdel-Lahyan, Governor of East Azerbaijan Province Malek Rahmati and Imam of Tabriz Province Mohammed Ali al-Hashem. They all died.
