The South Ossetian authorities will close the state border with Georgia during the parliamentary elections of the Republic. The corresponding order was announced by President Alan Gagloev during the operational meeting with the heads of the Republic’s security forces.
The head of state has noted that certain political forces are spreading various types of disinformation.
“In particular, it is stated that on voting day the state border with Georgia will be opened. The checkpoints will operate according to the regular schedule and will be closed for movement until June 20,” Gagloev has emphasized.
Gagloev also instructed the Border Service to switch to enhanced border security.
