The authorities of South Ossetia handed over to Georgia a resident of Tbilisi who had violated the state border, the Republic’s KGB reported on Wednesday.

As reported by the department, on July 1, the South Ossetian border guards detained a 31-year-old resident of Tbilisi, Lobzhanidze Zurab, for illegally crossing the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia.

It has been established that the said citizen intentionally violated the South Ossetian-Georgian border in the vicinity of the settlement of Balata in the Leningor district," the KGB has noted.

On Wednesday, Lobzhanidze, in accordance with Article 14 of the Law of the Republic of South Ossetia “On the State Border,” was expelled from the Republic.
