The possible establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Georgia will not harm the interests of South Ossetia, the head of the Republic's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Akhsar Dzhioev said at the press conference in Tskhinval.
As noted by him, the Russian colleagues have repeatedly said that the rupture of diplomatic relations was the initiative of the Georgian side.
"Russia has always emphasized that any actions towards Georgia will not infringe on the interests of South Ossetia. Russian colleagues recognize us as the independent state, so we are confident that no any decisions will be made without taking into account the interests of South Ossetia. This is also being talked about in Russia and we are focusing on it," the Minister said.
He has added that the Russian Federation remains the main guarantor of peace and security, and the Republic will continue to develop relations with it.
