The meeting of the action group for nominating an entrepreneur Rustem Dzhioev for presidential election has been held in the village of Znaur. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Central Election Committee. As reported to IA "Res" by Rustem Dzhioev, within the next few days the action group will submit the necessary documents to the CEC for registration.
Issues of implementing the investment program on promoting socio-economic development of South Ossetia in 2012 have been discussed at today's meeting in Tskhinval by the Acting President of the Republic of South Ossetia Vadim Brovtsev and Department Director of special programs and projects of territorial development of the Ministry of Regional Development of Russia Maxim Kryukov, who arrived in the Republic with a working visit. As reported to IA "Res" at the presidential press service and the government of South Ossetia, priorities relating to rehabilitation and socio-economic development of the Republic were discussed at the meeting.
Comment of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Murat Dzhioev to IA "Res" concerning the statement of Manana Manjgaladze -press speaker of the President of Georgia,- that re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Russia will take place only after closure of the "illegally opened, so-called embassies" in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
The Central Election Committee of South Ossetia has accepted today the documents from the initiative groups nominating candidates for the upcoming presidential election in March, 2011. They are: RSO parliamentary deputy of the IVth convocation Sergei Zasseev and ex-presidential candidate, RSO parliamentary deputy of the IId and IVth convocations Vladimir Kelekhsaev.
Recently media has again brought up a topic of issuing the so-called neutral passports to residents of South Ossetia and Abkhazia by the Georgian authorities. It has also been announced extremely negative reaction of the Abkhaz authorities to efforts of some foreign companies, functioning in Abkhazia and distributing these passports among residents of Abkhazia. For commenting the so-called "neutral" passports, the correspondent of IA "Res" have addressed the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, Murat Dzhioev.
The Central Election Committee of South Ossetia has registered the initiative group for nominating a candidate for the presidency Georgy Kabisov. As reported to IA "Res" by the CEC of South Ossetia, the initiative group was registered on January 14 and became eligible to begin collecting 1000 signatures in support of its nominated candidate. It should be noted that Georgy Kabisov (earlier holding a post of the Chairman of the State Committee of Information, Communication and Mass Media of South Ossetia) participated in the presidential elections on November, 13, 2011, but didn`t reach the presidential run-off, gaining 7.5% of the vote.
The Central Election Committee of South Ossetia is addressing to the initiative groups on nominating presidential candidates with a request to inform the Central Election Committee about holding their meetings, where a decision on nomination of any candidate is made.
The Central Election Committee accepted a second package of documents from a group of citizens, nominating George Kabisov as the presidential candidate in the upcoming elections on March 25. As reported to IA "Res" by the RSO CEC representative, "the package will be reviewed within legally established time ".
Recently voices for OSCE admission to South Ossetia have once again been heard from Tbilisi. This organization was working in our country during 15 years. The period from 1993 to 2008 was quite enough to understand its essence. What the OSCE means for South Ossetia knows everyone: false provocative and actually inciting to attacking us, slanderous fabrications under the pretext of «objective reports on a situation in a conflict zone».

January, 6, 1991 – is the beginning of the overt armed aggression of Georgia against the people of South Ossetia. On the night of January, 6 internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, which had had to support stability, without notice of the Republican leadership deserted their posts and went to the barracks. At 4 o'clock in the morning 3-thousand group of the Georgian militia among which there were the Georgian gunmen, criminals and addicts, amnestied the day before and disguised as militiamen, entered the town. They had considerable quantity of military equipment and dogs. Georgian "militia" occupied the central part of the town, blocked all roads and crossroads. Tortures, arrests, violence, murders, arsons began. In the afternoon of January, 6 the Georgian "militiamen" opened fire on the unarmed people. One man was killed, several were wounded. Their first victim became Kochiev Grisha Fedorovich, 32 years old, an inhabitant of Tskhinval, who under fire had covered his children with his body. The same night four persons were also wounded.
