The Central Election Committee of South Ossetia has completed this evening accepting subscription lists from the action groups, nominating candidates for the presidency of the Republic.
"In all, the Central Election Committee has accepted subscription lists from 19 action groups nominating the presidential candidates. The CEC will be checking the authenticity of signatures of voters; the presidential aspirants should pass an exam in knowing the official languages (Ossetian and Russian). In addition, they are obliged to submit declarations on income and taxes", - CEC secretary Irina Gassieva told IA "Res".

Association of Women of South Ossetia for Democracy and Human Rights, together with all the citizens of RSO followed with great concern events related to the announcement of the inauguration date by the ex-candidate to the President Dzhioeva Alla, and incident which happened in Tskhinval on February 9, when Alla Alekseevna Dzhioeva was transported to Rebublican Hospital in grave condition.

A presidential aspirant of South Ossetia, a former KGB chairman Leonid Tibilov has passed today an exam in revealing qualifications of the official languages. As reported to IA "Res" by the CEC secretary of South Ossetia, Irina Gassieva, Tibilov wrote a dictation in Russian and Ossetian, and then addressed the commission on the topic "Problems of Development of Education and Science in your election platform.

Foreign Minister of South Ossetia Murat Dzhioev has announced that the Diplomatic mission of South Ossetia in Moscow was currently headed by the Charge d'Affaires of the Republic in the Russian Federation Akhsar Dzhioev. "As you know, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Ossetia, Dmitry Medoev declared about his participation in the election of the President, scheduled for March 25 by the Parliament. Medoev is now in South Ossetia and is engaged in preparing for presidential campaign.

A presidential aspirant of South Ossetia, a Vice-Speaker of Parliament Yuri Dzitstsoity has passed today an exam on qualifications of the official languages, necessary for registration of presidential candidates. As IA "Res" has been informed at the CEC of South Ossetia, Yuri Dzitstsoity passed the exam successfully, and members of the linguistic commission gave him a pass.

The South Ossetian political party "Raestag IR" (Fair Ossetia) has nominated former official, ex- head of Dzausky district Pavel Kumaritov for President of the Republic. The meeting was attended by members of the CEC of South Ossetia. Candidacy of Kumaritov was approved by secret ballot. "The main thing for me - is a national idea. We have overcome a long way to independence and today we must maintain it. And this is the most important thing in this situation ", - Kumaritov said.

A presidential aspirant of South Ossetia, a Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Kozaev Roin Raminovich has not passed an exam on knowing the official languages (Ossetian and Russian) of the Republic, which is a prerequisite for registration of presidential candidates. As a result of the exam, which includes a dictation and a speech on the same topic in the Ossetian and Russian languages, Kozaev got a "fail." The decision was fixed in the final minutes of the linguistic commission. On Monday, February 6, the Central Election Committee will convene a meeting and make a decision on refusal of registration Roin Kozaev as a presidential candidate. It should be noted that Roin Kozaev first of the presidential aspirants has taken an exam on the official languages qualifications. It should also be reminded, that two linguistic commissions on revealing qualifications of the state languages of the Republic of South Ossetia- Russian and Ossetian - have been created by the CEC decision.

At the conference held today in Tskhinval the Communist Party of South Ossetia has nominated a party leader Stanislaw Kochiev as the candidate for president of the Republic. The decision was made by secret ballot. Out of 167 delegates of the city and district party committees, attended the conference, 155 voted for nomination of Kochiev, 4 - against.
